This is the 509th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Valentine Chocolate

Johnny Valentine was a grizzled veteran of the mat game and wasn’t shy about his disdain for younger talent possibly intruding on his turf and one day taking his spot. Valentine would often play “ribs” or practical jokes on new talent coming into territories that he was already in. He would allegedly defecate in a young wrestler’s hotel bed and wipe himself with their bedsheets. He would then make up the bed, as a hotel maid would and leave the room as if it was perfectly fine and wait for the young wrestler to get into bed and find a surprise waiting for him.
Ken Patera recalled one young wrestler who idolized Valentine and when he came into the territory, followed Valentine around like a lost puppy. The unidentified wrestler tried to emulate everything Valentine did in and out of the ring…and it angered Valentine. So the veteran decided to teach the youngster a lesson. He gathered cow feces and dried it out and made it look like chewing tobacco. Valentine then invited the young wrestler to sit with him and share some chew. The wrestler was eager for the opportunity to sit with Valentine and share some of his chewing tobacco…only the young wrestler’s chew was actually the cow poo.
The young man put it in his mouth and could visibly see his disgusted face tasting it…but tried to no sell it to his idol Valentine who asked him how did it taste. The wrestler became ill and started vomiting which put a big smile on Valentine’s face.
Vicious Cycle

Victoria Andreola was a lifelong wrestling fan, having idolized the Hardy Boyz and Lita growing up. Andreola would herself train and become a pro wrestler in 2018 being trained by Pat Buck. She would transform into her wrestling persona known as ‘Vicious Vicki’ and quickly become one of the hottest female independent wrestlers on the east coast. Ten months into her career, Vicki was invited to a WWE tryout. She also wrestled against Athena on AEW television.

For all of Vicious Vicki’s past and present successes, her road to wrestling fame was filled with several obstacles. She battled a serious heroin addiction for over four years. She overdosed and nearly died three separate times. After bouncing in and out of rehab, Vicki realized that she needed to quit drugs if she was ever going to “make it” as a professional wrestler. Thankfully, she got herself clean and has been outspoken about her once dark life of drugs and toxic relationships.
Stab in the Dark

Julius Haddad was a Lebanese born professional wrestler who competed under the moniker of ‘Sheik’ Mar Allah. In September of 1933, Haddad wrestled a match in Battle Creek, Michigan against an opponent named Johnny Stote. After the contest, Haddad was returning to the dressing room, when he began dealing with some very irate fans. One of the fans pulled out a knife and stabbed and slashed Haddad numerous times. Haddad was rushed to a local hospital and was in critical condition.
The doctors said that Haddad had a one in a thousand chance of surviving his wounds. Luckily, Haddad was in such top physical condition that he was able to survive after several weeks in the hospital. When asked by police who stabbed him, Haddad had no recollection. The promoter of the event offered a $50 reward for anyone with information that would lead to an arrest of the perpetrator. Some eye witnesses pointed out that Haddad had been arguing with a fan named Matt Jans. Jans was actually a professional golfer, who had attended that night’s matches. When questioned by investigators, Jans openly admitted to having a screaming match with Haddad and trying to trip him on his way back to the dressing room, but was not responsible for stabbing the wrestler.

Matt Jans was never arrested in connection to the stabbing of Haddad and in fact, no one was ever arrested as a suspect in the brutal stabbing of the wrestler. Haddad would make a full recovery and continue to wrestle up until the early 1960’s.He also starred in a number of films in Mexico.
Creative Writhing

Former WWE wrestler Lince Dorado recalled his early days with the company and not being used all that often. Dorado says he used to approach a particular writer for the 205 Live show that he was a part of and suggest various ideas for his character to get on TV. Lince would notice that many of his ideas were being used on other wrestlers and for a while, felt upset but flattered that his creative ideas were being used.

It all came to a head one day, when Lince went to the the same writer with an idea and the writer told him it was a great idea, but wasn’t right for him and would give it to somebody else. While the writer was at least being honest for the first time and not taking credit for Dorado’s ideas as he was previously…it still got Lince angry. So much so, that he threatened the writer physical harm and actually had to be held back from assaulting the writer by Cedric Alexander and Triple H.
The end result of that incident saw Lince Dorado suspended from the WWE for five months. Dorado said he did a lot of maturing after that incident took place. When he finally was reinstated by WWE to return, Dorado talked to the writer and apologized for his actions.
