This is the 480th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involves such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series…I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
Too Sweet To Be True

The self proclaimed “Gangster of Love” during his wrestling days…’Sweet’ Stan Lane was involved in a very contentious paternity suit for a number of years. It all began in March of 1986, when Lane was actively wrestling for Championship Wrestling of Florida. It was during that time, when Lane had a brief affair with a 17 year old named Shawna Roberts. Nine months later in December of that year, Lauren Opal Roberts was born.
When Shawna was pregnant, she claimed that Stan Lane was the father and stated in court documents that Lane asked Shawna to “get an abortion.” After the girl was born, a paternity test was issued to Lane who initially avoided the situation by no showing a number of events in the state of Florida for the NWA and WCW. It was during a show in North Carolina, where a court officer finally caught up with Lane, who was hiding in a shower stall fully dressed.

In 1990, Lane finally agreed to take a blood test to determine if he was in fact the father to the then four year old girl. When the paternity results came back, it was determined that there was 0.0% chance that Stan Lane was the father. Unfortunately, it was revealed a while later that the person in charge of conducting the test was arrested for taking a bribe from an NFL player for switching the results of a separate test in a different case. This left doubt in Shawna’s mind and demanded that another test be done.

By this time, the baby girl Lauren had grown up and became a Republican Congresswoman from the state of Colorado. This made the entire situation more high profile and even more contentious which had Lane’s wife Maria involved with verbal spats with Lauren’s mother Shawna. In the end, the second test was the exact same result as the first and determined that Stan Lane was not Lauren’s biological father. Lane issued this statement… “The results came back on May 11, 2023. They were conclusive that I had a 0.0% chance of being the biological father,” Lane added. “Once we both reviewed the results Lauren and I agreed that this matter is settled, and I accepted Lauren’s apology on behalf of herself and her mother.”
A Brave Nude World

Impact Wrestling star Jessicka Havok had a sex tape that was either leaked or posted by her personally. The other person’s identity on the tape was not revealed, but believed to be her partner…fellow Impact wrestler Sami Callihan. Havok does have an Onlyfans account, where she has posted sexy images of her self in lingerie and others where she is topless or completely nude. No word if the sex tape was a part of the OnlyFans account or separate from that.
Momma Said Knock You Out!

Julius Woronick wrestled professionally from the 1930’s until the mid 1950’s. For a majority of that time, Woronick wrestled under the alias of ‘The Great Mephisto.’ Woronick is not to be confused with Frankie Caine who also wrestled under that name in later years. Caine credits Woronick for the inspiration to take the Mephisto name after becoming a fan and watching Woronick wrestle.

In March of 1931…Woronick’s rookie year…he was arrested on charges of elder abuse. It was reported that Woronick woke up and asked his 85 year old mother for breakfast. When his mother refused, Woronick allegedly beat her. Woronick was arrested and subsequently found guilty in a Connecticut court. He was sentenced to one year in prison, but was released after serving six months of that sentence.
Cocaine Cowboy

In 2008, WWE suspended wrestler Jimmy Wang Yang 30 days for a violation of the company’s Wellness Policy. It was suspected that Yang allegedly tested positive for cocaine use. It was reported that Jimmy Wang Yang showed up backstage at a WWE TV Taping and seemed out of sorts and was “emphatically rubbing his nose.”

WWE management were alerted and sprung a surprise drug test that day, to which Yang failed. Yang served the one month suspension and was brought back and given a second chance by Vince McMahon who was reportedly a big fan of Yang and his gimmick. A few years later, Yang admitted to “partying a bit too much” the night before while celebrating his birthday.
