Brian Damage

This is the 385th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

This THING Of Ours

Brian Carreiro competed for several years under the ring name of ‘The Thing.’ He wrestled for promotions like World Class in Texas and Championship Wrestling from Florida. Carreiro also wrestled under the name ‘Brian Carr’ for WCW as enhancement talent back in 1991. While Carreiro wrestled by day…he had a more interesting job by night. Brian Carreiro allegedly served as the personal bodyguard to a drug trafficker named Jon Roberts based out of Miami, Florida.

According to Roberts, Carreiro was a huge man who rarely spoke, but knew exactly what Roberts wanted without being given much direction. Roberts said that Carreiro hated guns and never carried one. Instead, he used his physical strength and presence to do Roberts bidding if needed. Roberts claimed a couple of men stole a few kilos of cocaine from him and it was Carreiro who spotted the two men driving on the highway a few months later. Roberts and Carreiro got into a high speed chase with the men with Roberts and the two individuals exchanging gun shots…all while Carreiro sat in the passenger seat. Roberts was able to force the two men off the road and allegedly used Carreiro to brutally beat the men up.

According to Roberts, Carreiro would continually chokeslam the two men on the pavement. When Roberts asked Carreiro why was he doing constantly doing that….Carreiro simply said that he wanted to see how high he could get the bodies to bounce up. Roberts said that Carreiro often used his brute strength to maim and severely injure anyone who dared to oppose him with no questions asked. Roberts said that Brian Carreiro was arrested numerous times for assault and battery among other charges and he was always able to bail him out due to his vast connections with Colombia’s Medellín Cartel.

Brian ‘The Thing’ Carreiro died while in a nursing home in Connecticut in 2012. He was 65 years old.

Sunburned

WWE Hall of Fame manager/valet Tammy ‘Sunny’ Sytch has reportedly been making a large amount of money on her OnlyFans account. Her account shows Sytch nude and performing various sexual acts on both video and in pictures. At one point, Sytch invited her fans and subscribers (both male and female) to send pics of themselves with the opportunity to be in pics and videos with her.

In October of 2021, Sytch posted that she was hospitalized for a few days after she was allegedly abused by her “co star.” She stated, “I’m sorry guys… Buy my “co-star” has become a complete asshole. He’s abusive AF. And has given me some bruises. Please forgive me. I can’t do much right now.” It doesn’t appear that she pressed any charges against the nameless co star which led some to question her story’s legitimacy. In any case, Sytch has been in and out of the hospital in recent months. Some of it relating to a gallbladder issue.

Colt-ure Shock

Ron Read aka Buddy Colt was a pro wrestler who competed in the 1960’s and 70’s. He wrestled all over the world and various territories which included Kansas, Texas, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. His career was cut short after surviving a plane crash in 1975 which took the life of fellow wrestler Bobby Shane. After that, Colt went on record as saying that, “My heart just wasn’t in it.” Colt was still in his prime during this time, as he was just 39 years old.

Despite turning his back on pro wrestling, Colt was still an icon in the Tampa, Florida area after his retirement. He still showed up and appeared for various wrestling shows and conventions. In recent years, Colt had battled numerous health issues which included Parkinson’s disease and Dementia. Buddy Colt died in March of 2021 at the age of 85 years old. In November of 2021, one of Colt’s first protege’s and head of the Cauliflower Alley Club…Brian Blair announced that Colt had died by committing suicide. Apparently, Colt was despondent over his health issues and took his own life. No other details were revealed about his death.

A Rocky Situation

In 2000, former wrestler ‘The Soul Man’ Rocky Johnson worked part time as a parks and recreation activities leader in Davie, Florida. During his stint there, Johnson faced several disturbing accusations. Rocky was accused of groping a female employee at least on two occasions, had sexual intercourse on park premises, and allegedly invited a 12 year old girl to play a game of strip poker. Johnson was suspended (with pay) pending a criminal investigation.

While serving his suspension, Johnson was using the company phone and making over 600 calls racking up a bill that cost taxpayers $723. Also put into question, was Rocky’s personal relationship with the mayor of the town a man named Harry Venis. The mayor was a friend of Johnson’s and also a business partner. Mayor Venis drove and then sat in with Johnson when he was initially interviewed for the job. Rocky claimed innocence against all the accusations. The District Attorney claimed that there was sufficient evidence to charge Johnson with groping…but the alleged female victim refused to go to trial…thus the charges were dropped.
