Abdullah the Butcher is one of the greatest heels in professional wrestling history.  He has been involved in some of the bloodiest matches over his 40+ years in the business.  Over the years he has been represented by the “Who’s Who” of managers.  They were portrayed as “handlers” to control the Sudanese madman, while also doing most of the talking in promos and interviews.  Here is a list of some of the most famous managers.

NOTE: This is not a complete list.

Gary Hart-Hart managed Abby in World Class, NWA/WCW and other Texas independents versus Bruiser Brody.

Paul Jones-In the NWA Mid Atlantic area as part of the Paul Jones Army.

Eddie Creatchman-While Abdullah was in Canada Creatchman was his man.

Black Baron– Otherwise known as Bruce Swayze.  As Black Baron, he managed Abdullah the Butcher in Ohio in the 1970s.

The Grand Wizard-Although listed on several sources, I could not find any evidence that the Wizard managed Abdullah.  Perhaps he used another persona.

 J. J. Dillon-While Abdullah enjoyed the Sunshine State, Dillon managed his affairs.

Damien Kane-Kane managed Abby during his time in the NWF.

Larry Sharpe-In the 80’s another trip to PR, this time with Sharpe as his manager.

Chicky Starr-The World Wrestling Council in PR is where Chicky managed the big man.

Sir Oliver Humperdink-The Butcher was part of the House of Humperdink in the Mid-Atlantic area.

Buddy Colt-1975 Florida Buddy Colt represented the Butcher.

George Cannon-Credited as Abdullah’s first manager and helped develop his character.

Bearcat Wright-Feb 1975 Wright managed the Butcher for a few matches in Georgia.

Big Bad John– He led an army of heels called Big Bad John’s Army, with clientele including Abdullah the Butcher, Waldo von Erich, Bulldog Brower, Mr. Fuji, Hiro and Hito Tojo, Don Fargo, Blackjack Slade and Tiger Jeet Singh in Australia.

Tony Montana-portrayed a wrestling manager who managed Abdullah the Butcher on the SportsChannel in Chicago.

Gentleman Jim Holiday-In Florida JJ Dillon agreed to manage Ron Bass exclusively, so he asked Holiday to take his other clients.

Rock Hunter-In 1977 Hunter was one of the Butcher’s handlers in Georgia.  His big feud was with Stan Hansen.

Paul Ellering-One of the many trips to Georgia Ellering handled his affairs.

Rob Black-A member of the Black Army with John Kronus, Vic Grimes and others.

Hugo Savinovich-He was Abby’s first manager in Puerto Rico, and Abby was the first person that Hugo managed.

Sheik Adnan El Kaissey-While in the AWA the Sheik managed Bruiser Brody and Abby.

Jimmy Hart-Georgia 1985 Tommy Rich hires Abby as a hitman in his war with the Long Riders.  Hart arrives to show Rich a contract indicating that Abdullah the Butcher has joined the “First Family”.

Deepak Singh-Managed Abdullah in Canada.

Frenchy Martin-Also in Canada.
