Here we are with all the latest and greatest (maybe not) pro wrestling facts, stats and trivia tidbits you will ever need in your life. Sure, some of these are well known to some and maybe something brand new to others. Either way, here they are in all their factual glory. So as per usual, let’s all go learn…

Early in his WWE developmental career, Seth Rollins was on a short list of wrestlers that would be released. It was none other than Joey Mercury who stood up for Rollins and saved his job.

The Great Muta was first known as ‘the Great Mota’ when he first debuted for the NWA in 1989.

The infamous green mist many Asian wrestlers have used during their careers, is nothing more than colored food dye that is placed in a small plastic baggie.

The Emma dance that Tenille Dashwood used during her WWE career was created by Byron Saxton and Dusty Rhodes.

Former wrestling valet and ex wife to ‘Gentleman’ Chris Adams and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Jeanie ‘Lady Blossom’ Clarke was used as an extra on the set of Rocky III. She was in the crowd of people watching Rocky take on Hulk Hogan’s character of ‘Thunder Lips.’

Kairi Sane got her start in pro wrestling after being discovered while acting in a play. After Sane graduated college, she wanted to pursue a career in acting. While acting in a play portraying none other than a wrestler….a Japanese promoter (who attended the play) thought that she would make a great real wrestler. Kairi Sane has only been an active wrestler since 2012.

WCW had their own version of the Hell in a Cell match called ‘Caged Heat’ back in the year 2000.

The WWF had a tag team called the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers consisting of real life brothers Jaqcues and Raymond. Did you know there was a third brother named Armand that was signed by the WWF in 1986? He never appeared with the company, because one month before his debut…he suffered a career ending back injury.

In 2008, Shinsuke Nakamura became a dual IWGP Heavyweight champion. He defeated Kurt Angle, to unify the IWGP Heavyweight title (Recognized by New Japan) and the IWGP Heavyweight title (Recognized by Antonio Inoki’s IGF promotion)

The very last non repeat match that officially aired for the now defunct American Wrestling Association was DJ Peterson and The Trooper defeating the Destruction Crew (Mike Enos and Wayne Bloom) for the AWA tag team titles. It happened at the last ever AWA TV taping on August 11th, 1990.

Finn Balor aka Fergal ‘Prince’ Devitt is the only wrestler who has competed at Wrestlemania, Wrestle Kingdom and CMLL Aniversario events.

Kevin Von Erich was the only Von Erich brother to make it to his 34th birthday. Jack Jr. died at 6, David died at 25, Mike killed himself at 23, Chris killed himself at 21 and Kerry killed himself at 33.

Rey Fenix was the AAA Mega Champion (the Mexican promotion’s top title) for 420 days and only defended the title twice before losing it to Kenny Omega.

The Young Bucks of Nick and Matt Jackson have a real life younger brother named Malachi Jackson who also wrestles.

Speaking of brothers, did you know that the Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott) have a brother Gary who was also a successful amateur wrestler. He never followed in his brothers footsteps of going professional.

Angel Garza of NXT and Humberto Carillo of Monday Night Raw are actually cousins. Here they both are pictured with their grandfather.

Jack Gacek and Steve Brody were two professional Wrestlers that were killed while serving the United States military in World War II.

Prior to getting involved in professional wrestling, Ring of Honor’s Mandy Leon was a model talent scout and recruiter. She helped discover aspiring models and book them for shows, conventions and events.
